• What is IB?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a high-level college preparatory program designed for outstanding high school students. Students in the IB program have the option of pursuing either the full IB Diploma or Certificates in one or more areas of selected study. Students may earn college credit or advanced standing for their IB course work.  The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a two-year educational programme primarily aimed at 16-to-19-year-olds in 140 countries around the world. The programme provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by many universities worldwide.  IB prepares students to succeed in a world where facts and fiction merge in the news, and where asking the right question is a crucial skill that will allow them to flourish long after they’ve left our programmes.  Colleges always like to see prospective students challenge themselves, and those who risk their GPAs in order to take a more rigorous course of study stand out more than students with excellent GPAs who took a lighter course load.

    The IB's Mission

Since it was founded in 1968, the IB’s mission has been built on a cornerstone of creating a better world through education. We believe that now more than ever, and are committed to ensuring that our educational programmes reflect this for the benefit of IB schools and students.
